1960 Bentley S2 Flying Spur Saloon

1960 Bentley S2 Flying Spur Saloon

This Bentley S2 Continental features the elegant H J Mulliner-designed ‘Flying Spur’ four-door coachwork, and is one of only 71 with right-hand drive out of a total of 125 completed in this style on the S2 chassis.

Finished in Tudor over Shell Grey with immaculate St James Red leather with Burgundy carpets, chassis number BC124AR was retailed new via Rippon Brothers Ltd of Huddersfield and first owned by A. Lee & Sons Ltd of the Trubrite Works, Meadowhall, Sheffield.

The copy chassis card notes that it was for the use of Colonel K. C. Lee and lists only one subsequent owner, a W. S. Trimble of Dalston, Cumbria from March 1965.

Restored to the highest standard in Germany approximately 10 years, the bodywork is in superb condition, the leather immaculate, and with all the woodwork re-veneered or replaced a wonderfully sumptuous interior has been re created.

Mechanically a great deal of money has been spent recently to update the brakes, gearbox and electrics to the standard of the rest of the vehicle, and the S2 now starts perfectly hot or cold, pulls through the gears and stops beautifully, with important improvements made by classic Bentley and Rolls specialists DEW in Oxfordshire.

Special features include Piper electric windows, air conditioning, and a retro look modern radio with electric aerial.

An excellent example of a beautiful and rare Bentley saloon, that not only drives well but looks stunning.
