2008 FORD-SHELBY Mustang GT500 Super Snake
2008 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 Super Snake
Introduced in 2007 as the first Shelby Mustang since 1970, the S197 chassis GT500 topped Ford’s modular 32-valve 5.4 V8 with a supercharger for a full 500 hp. Designed and built in collaboration by Ford’s Special Vehicle Team (SVT) and Shelby, fewer than 25,000 were made for 2007, 2008, and 2009 model years combined. Only a fraction of that figure were sent back to Shelby for Super Snake conversion, a package offered from 2008 and available in two states of tune–600 or 725+ hp.
Super Snake spec included custom carbon fibre side skirts, front splitter, cooling ducts for front and rear brakes, and a fibreglass ram-air hood held down by race-style pins. The cabin features Super Snake logo embroidered headrests, Super Snake sill plates, a Shelby I.D. plaque, and a central gauges for supercharger boost, oil pressure, and fuel pressure. Carroll Shelby signature Super Snake floor mats are also included.
One of the most powerful and exclusive semi-factory Mustangs ever made, this is not only an incredibly fast car but also a very rare one.
